From her Edinburgh studio, Gillian creates handcrafted jewellery using innovative techniques with silver and gold wire.
Gillian grew up in Hong Kong, before studying Jewellery and Silversmithing at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, graduating with First-Class Honours.
Gillian’s jewellery is inspired by the amazing bamboo scaffold structures which captivated her during her childhood in Hong Kong. She finds beauty in their complex patterns and reimagines them into more playful and flowing forms. Each unique piece of jewellery reflects the contradictions in these bamboo scaffold frameworks - they are strong and structural, yet light and intricate.
